The Developmental Environment Rating Scale (DERS) is a classroom assessment tool, built into an easy-to-use iPad app, that measures child and adult behaviors, and environmental attributes, associated with developmental outcomes such as executive function, linguistic and cultural fluency, and social fluency and emotional flexibility. Schools use the DERS to guide observation and support continuous improvement towards outcomes that matter.
DERS training is a 6-hour online asynchronous course that prepares you to use the DERS app (available on iPad only) effectively as a tool for classroom observation and continuous improvement. Participants will learn to identify, evaluate, and record classroom characteristics that support development.
You may begin this course upon enrollment; users will have 60 days to complete the training and certification process. If after 60 days you have not completed the course, you will need to start again at the beginning. Your DERS subscription will begin on the first of the month following enrollment and will expire 356 days from that date. If you do not complete training within that year, you will need to re-enroll in the DERS training. Annual renewal through our DERS Annual Subscription, currently priced at $130, is required to maintain your subscription.
Upon completion, DERS Observers will receive a DERS Observer Certificate.
Your DERS Training and Certification will be automatically bundled with a one year DERS subscription required for use of the DERS ($130) for a total cost of $435.
