This course is a year-round implementation workshop for school leaders.

This course is a year-round whole-school implementation workshop for school leaders.

“NCMPS has something valuable for every leader in a public school.”
“These workshops are essential for new or practiced Montessori leaders!”

Leaders of public Montessori programs face unique challenges and novel opportunities in supporting and sustaining a school environment that uses Montessori principles to support human flourishing. This course brings school leaders together to reflect on and analyze their programs and share strategies for developing strong, lasting Montessori programs.

The course begins with one-on-one onboarding calls to determine the needs and interests of participants. Facilitator Seth D. Webb will use these conversations to build a nine-session program of monthly calls grounded in NCMPS’ Essential Elements for Public Montessori:

  • prepared adults
  • the Montessori learning environments
  • family partnership
  • leadership and organizational development
  • assessment

Over the arc of the school year participants will develop a holistic, personalized, and practical implementation framework for their schools.

This workshop is designed for graduates of NCMPS’ Montessori Fundamentals for School Leaders course, or leaders who have had formal Montessori training or orientation. Practitioners who are new to Montessori are welcome to join Montessori Fundamentals for School Leaders, starting October 15th.

Participants will:

  • orient to and practice with critical tools and resources
  • engage in collaborative conversations, sharing stories and strategies from the field
  • reflect on the the strengths and needs of their programs, analyze the assets and challenges to implementation, and plan strategically and act tactically in response

Format:

  • 10 60-minute sessions
  • Thursdays* October–June, 1:00-2:00pm ET
  • 1:1 onboarding call with the course facilitator in October
  • 5 hours of outside independent resource review and reflection
