In Montessori, we know that each child is unique, but equal opportunity means that every child has access to a full range of possibilities. Standards aren’t about limiting Montessori practice; they’re about making sure every child, in every Montessori classroom, gets the richness they deserve.

This course will empower public Montessori educators to confidently navigate and integrate academic standards while preserving the core values of Montessori pedagogy. Participants will:

  • Identify how Montessori lessons already meet key academic standards
  • Learn to use standards to guide lesson planning and documentation
  • Explore how to cross-reference student assessment and observation data to locate Montessori lessons aligned to areas of academic need
  • Watch and analyze Montessori lesson presentations (Primary or Elementary) with guided tools for enhancing alignment and intentionality
  • Engage with lesson inquiry and lesson design tools to address gaps or extend learning

Through reflective practice and practical tools, educators will leave with the confidence and clarity to meet standards without compromising the integrity of the Montessori method and pedagogy or the educational outcomes all children deserve.
