Taking the Day On
In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his work, many of us will not be at our regular jobs and schools on Monday. We may be taking the day off or we may, as Dr. King’s late wife Corretta Scott King encouraged, be taking the day on. In support of the latter, I’d like to share with you 2 related resources.
The first resource offers ways to go a step (or 7 steps) further in our celebration, through acts that honor Dr. King’s legacy and further his work. Many are doing this work everyday. If you aren’t and you want to do better, consider this encouragement.
To this wonderful list, I’m adding an 8th. This second resource offers an assortment of Dr. King’s better and lesser known quotes. Choose a quote from the list and think about what it would mean for you to live into it fully. Then act on that. I found inspiration. I’m hoping you will, too.
Yours, an extremist in love,
