This interactive session will explore the teacher appraisal process. We’ll frame teacher appraisal as a process of ongoing professional formation and an animating feature of school culture, rather than a perfunctory, punitive, and performance-oriented measure.
The webinar will orient participants to the year-round cycle of assessment, the Teacher Reflective Practice Inventory, and the Teacher Appraisal Instrument as tools for observation, reflection, and coaching for continuous improvement. NCMPS staff will lead the session and guest practitioners will share how they have used the tool. A recording of the webinar will be available to participants, and for purchase after the event.
The session is part of a series going into greater depth with tools from the Montessori Assessment Playbook, a strategy manual and collection of tools for implementing a new assessment model grounded in Montessori and supporting human flourishing. NCMPS staff and guest practitioners will lead these 90-minute presentations and discussions, offering an orientation to the tools and a deeper explanation of how they can be used in the field. A recording will be available to participants, and for purchase after the event.
